3. Your UBC - If you would like, and are able, to contribute -

In September 2011, the University of British Columbia launched the most ambitious fundraising and alumni engagement campaign in Canadian history. The evolution campaign aims to raise $1.5 billion dollars for students, research and community engagement. From medical research to sustainability to scholarships, find a project (https://startanevolution.ubc.ca/find-a-project/) that you would like to be a part of.

For example a gift to Green College will support the programming that makes it an inspiring collaborative community. The College's main academic endowment funds interdisciplinary, non-curricular programs and activities, including the interdisciplinary lecture series.

4. Your Association of Emeriti Professors Award Fund and Endowment Fund

UBC’s emeriti are an under-utilized resource. Many contribute to the academic work and reputation of UBC through lecturing and mentoring, research and publishing, and participation in foundational university committees. UBC’s Emeritus College will significantly strengthen these important bonds and increase UBC’s research capacity. The college will also provide emeriti with a supportive retirement pathway to an active UBC community, allowing them to retire when it is right for them while also maintaining their desired level of activity and connection. In addition, the college will enable emeriti to retain their academic identities and continue to pursue their academic and creative interests.

The Emeritus College at UBC will support UBC emeriti to continue their contributions to the academic mission of the university. It will also ensure emeriti remain an integral part of the UBC community, with links to their academic departments and faculties that are mutually beneficial. In addition, the culture and environment of the college provides a natural growth opportunity for interdisciplinary projects. In the college, emeriti will form and strengthen intellectual, social, and community volunteer networks.

Please make a donation to the UBC Emeritus College. Your gift will help to create a robust college, encourage UBC emeriti participation, and further the missions of the college and UBC.

5. UBC Community United Way Campaign

The UBC Community United Way Campaign will kick off this year on October 11th, 2016 with A Week of Caring. The week will include several campus-wide events to raise money and awareness for United Way’s mission of eradicating poverty and helping seniors and children in the Lower Mainland.

This year, UBC celebrates 40 years of campaigning for the United Way.  So, we have set the UBC United Way 2016 campaign goal to help 40 000 people in the greater Vancouver Lower Mainland. Together we can do this, because we are possibility!

New this year is a personalized webpage dedicated solely to the UBC Association of Professors Emeriti: http://www.unitedway.ubc.ca/emeriti/ .
This page will include upcoming event information and a place for you to access payroll pledge forms.

The campaign ended for this year. Thank you for your contribution and see you next year!
